The world's third strongest man lives in Thunder Bay (2 Photos)

Maxime Boudreault returns with a trophy from a global competition in California.

THUNDER BAY — Thunder Bay resident Maxime Boudreault captured third place in the World's Strongest Man competition which wrapped up Sunday in Sacramento, California.

The 29-year old is originally from Kapuskasing.

This was his second year competing in the international event.

The 6-foot-4, 340-pound man finished with 36.5 points, behind runner-up Brian Shaw of the U.S. (42.5 pts) and champion Tom Stoltman of the U.K. (45.5 pts).

During the five-day event, Boudreault had second-place efforts in the Loading Medley, Keg Toss, Atlas Stones and Log Lift.

In an Instagram post, he said he established a new Canadian record in the Log Lift by hoisting 452 pounds.
