THUNDER BAY — A brazen theft from the property of a local organization that supports children and youth has left supporters of the group shaking their heads.

Over the weekend, two individuals entered the yard of Our Kids Count on McKenzie Street and stole multiple rolls of newly-laid sod.

Video captured on a surveillance camera shows them using a push carriage to make two trips as they transported the sod to the east side of Simpson Street.

Long-time Our Kids Count supporter and volunteer John Trevisanutto describes the incident as "a new low for Thunder Bay."

The theft has been reported to Thunder Bay Police.

"I hope you are proud of what you did," Trevisanutto said in a message to the perpetrators posted on social media. "Return the sod no questions asked. Stealing from anyone is wrong, but stealing from a charitable organization is a new low."

He's asking anyone anyone with information about the incident, to reach out to him.
