A local curling legend is hoping for the safe return of three priceless rings.

On Tuesday night, Rick Lang's wife Lorraine returned to her home to find that thieves had broken in through a basement window.  In a strange twist, the only things that appear to be missing are Rick's three Brier championship rings.

The rings are from Lang's Canadian championships in 1975 with the Bill Tetley rink, and from ‘82 and '85 as the third on Al Hackner's team.

According to Lang's daughter, Sarah, none of her mom's jewelry, nor anything else in the home, appears to have been taken.

Lang is on a curling trip in China, but his family hopes that whoever took the rings will return them, as they hold great sentimental value.

Last month, Stephen Anderson had his Grey Cup and college bowl rings stolen out of his car on the city's south side.

There's been no information about that robbery and Thunder Bay police say the two aren't connected.

The investigations into both incidents is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police or Crimestoppers.
