A Cochrane, Ont., man died after the snowmobile he was on broke through the ice on an area lake Sunday.
Greenstone detachment OPP officers say the incident took place on Upper Jobrin Lake, located about 40 kilometres north of Longlac. The victim, identified as 48-year-old Lucien Dubeault, was one of three people fishing on the lake when the snowmobile broke through a patch of thin ice.
The OPP Emergency Response team managed to rescue the two other individuals, one of them being the driver of the snowmobile that went into the water.
