THUNDER BAY — City police have arrested a third suspect in an October murder investigation.

Thunder Bay police on Monday confirmed that 24-year-old Javon Lascelle Myers of Toronto has been charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Michael Park.

Myers was arrested in Thunder Bay on Friday, police said.

Police were called to reports of gunfire in the area of May and Arthur streets on the afternoon of Oct. 7, 2022. Park, a 24-year-old from Toronto, was found injured and later died.

Two other people — 40-year-old Greg Casimir Meshake and a 16-year-old from Blind River, Ont., — face first-degree murder charges in the case. They were each arrested in October.

Myers appeared in bail court on Saturday and remains in custody with a future date scheduled.

The charges against the three accused have yet to be tested in court.
