THUNDER BAY -- Synergy North is dealing with three separate power outages that could keep 3,500 customers without power until Saturday afternoon.

The utility said 1,272 customers are affected by an outage in the Cumming Street, Empire Avenue, Marks Street South and Tarbutt Street South region, with power estimated to be back by about 1 p.m.

Customers in the John Street Road, Oliver Road, Thunder Bay Expressway and Mapleward Road area can expect their power back at around 3 p.m. on Saturday, while those in the Red River Road, Spofford, South Water Street and High Street area may get power restored by about 2 p.m. Synergy North says 707 customers are affected in the first outage, 1,553 in the second.

"Crews are working as quickly and safely as possible to restore power. For updates on your neighbourhood, please visit our Outage Map," reads a note posted to Synergy North's Facebook page.
