Three arrested following break and enter

OPP arrest three individuals in connection with a Sioux Lookout break and enter early Sunday morning.

SIOUX LOOKOUT – On November 20, 2016 shortly before 5:48 a.m., Sioux Lookout Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call for assistance from a residence on Seventh Avenue in Sioux Lookout. 

Two of the home occupants had been assaulted during the Break and Enter; one of the occupants was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Three individuals were located inside the home and upon further investigation, were charged with multiple offences.   

Lori Blackhawk (28 years old) of Deer Lake First Nation, ON has been charged with:

  • Assault Causing Bodily Harm s. 267(b) CC
  • Assault with a Weapon (2 charges) s. 267(a) CC
  • Forcible Confinement s.  279(2) CC
  • Break, Enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence s. 348(1)(b) CC
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose s.  88 CC

Miranda Aysanabee (20 years old) of Deer Lake First Nation, ON has been charged with:

  • Assault Causing Bodily Harm s. 267(b) CC
  • Assault with a Weapon s. 267(a) CC
  • Forcible Confinement s. 279(2) CC
  • Break, Enter dwelling house - commit indictable offence s. 348(1)(b) CC

Kendra MEEKIS (21 years old) of Deer Lake First Nation, ON has been charged with:

  • Assault s. 266 CC
  • Assault Causing Bodily Harm s. 267(b) CC
  • Forcible Confinement s. 279(2) CC
  • Assault with a Weapon (2 charges) s. 267(a) CC
  • Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm (2 charges) s. 264(1)(a) CC
  • Mischief under $5,000 s. 430(4) CC
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose s. 88 CC
  • Break, Enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence s. 264.1(1)(a) CC

The three individuals remain in custody until their bail hearing in Sioux Lookout on November 25, 2016.  The investigation remains ongoing.
