Three city residents arrested in Sault Ste. Marie for drug trafficking

The three accused from Thunder Bay ranging in age between 35 and 48-years-old have been charged with drug trafficking.

SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. - Three people from Thunder Bay have been arrested in Sault Ste. Marie and are facing various drug related charges.

According to a media release by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service, officers conducting property checks on the 600 block of Trunk Road Sunday night just after 10 p.m. observed two vehicles in a parking lot.

The trunks of both vehicles were open and when officers approached, one of the vehicles fled the scene at a high rate of speed and the other vehicle, as well as one male and one female standing outside the vehicle, and a female seated inside, remained.

Officers observed several clear bags containing a substance believed to be crack cocaine on the ground next to the vehicle. The three individuals were arrested and a search of the vehicle uncovered 6.9 grams of cocaine, 122.7 grams of crack cocaine, and $480 in Canadian currency.

The estimated street value of the drugs seized is $12,940.

Police arrested 48-year-old Tracy Deruiter, 41-year-old Christopher Gallucci, 35-year-old Sarah Willie, all of Thunder Bay.

The three accused are facing charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime.

A future court date has been scheduled for July 6.
