Three new COVID-19 cases in Nipigon

All three cases deemed close contact with another COVID-19 patient.

NIPIGON – The Town of Nipigon is dealing with three new cases of COVID-19.

Days after announcing a woman who had travelled to Canada’s east coast was diagnosed with the virus, the Thunder Bay District Health Unit on Friday announced three more cases in the community, a female in her 20s, a male in his 40s and a male under 20.

All three are listed in the close contact category of exposure and have been self isolating. Two have been self-isolating since March 30, the other, the man listed as under 20, since March 21.

Flight details are listed as not applicable.

It brings the health unit’s total number of COVID-19 cases to 12, four in Nipigon and eight in the Thunder Bay area.
