THUNDER BAY — The Thunder Bay District Health Unit reports three new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Thunder Bay and the immediate surrounding area.
One of the individuals is currently receiving treatment in hospital.
The TBDHU says it has not identified yet how the patient was exposed to the virus.
The two other cases are the result of close contact with an infected person.
Both these individuals are self-isolating.
Earlier this morning, the TBDHU also declared an outbreak of COVID-19 in one section of the Southbridge Roseview long-term care home.
To date, only one staff member has tested positive. No residents have tested positive.
There are currently 52 active cases of COVID-19 in the TBDHU's jurisdiction, including the one person now in hospital.
To date, there have been 189 cases in the city and district.
On Tuesday, 21 new cases were reported.
