The walk/run is happening from May 1 to May 8 and registration is currently open

THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay residents braved the cold and rain in costume to participate in the first day of the second annual Action Hero walk/Run organized by the Children’s Centre Foundation, Canadian Mental Health Thunder Bay Branch, and ThunderCon in support of Mental Health Week 2022.

“It’s here to raise funds for mental health services targeting children and youth in Thunder Bay and the region. So we’re asking everybody to check us out online at raceroster.com our website for the event is on our website and on the Children’s Centre Foundation’s website,” said Kevin Taylor, chancellor, ThunderCon.

“The idea is for you to gather pledges and raise funds for mental health services. You can do it any day, any time, any route you want but today we’re doing a fun run to kick it off.”

The walk/run is happening from May 1 to May 8 and registration is currently open to individuals, families, colleagues, teams, marathon runners, dog walkers, etc.

Each race participant will receive a downloadable bib, a charitable receipt for donations over $20 and a finisher chip.

Prizes will also be awarded to top fundraisers, top teams, and top distances.

Special Discounted rates apply to students and schools who wish to participate.
