A proposed takeover of a locally-based airline has fallen through.
Last November it was announced that a deal was in the works that would see Air Bravo, based out of Elliot Lake, buy locally owned Thunder Airlines. That deal now appears to be dead.
Thunder Airlines President Ken Bittle said the process was a bit disruptive for employees, but it's back to business as usual for the company. He says the deal is a confidential matter between the two companies, but did say conditions of the sale simply were not met on the last day.
When asked if there is still a chance for a deal, Bittle said he can never tell what the next phone call will bring, but adds that this particular deal has expired.
Thunder Airlines has 80 employees between Thunder Bay and Timmins.
