THUNDER BAY – Add the Thunder at the Bay Car Show to the growing list of 2020 cancellations.

Organizers on Monday said they had remained hopeful they could still host the Aug. 22 and Aug. 23 event, but the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic made it clear it wasn’t possible.

“We care about you and your health, first and foremost, and we cannot plan and ensuring everyone’s safety in the difficult current conditions. We know these are challenging times, but our community is resilient,” the planning committee wrote in a release issued to local media.

The event will return in 2021, organizers added.
