Thunder Bay and Duluth holding a sister cities chef swap

Chefs from Thunder Bay and Duluth will be trading restaurants for special dining events this spring.
City Hall
THUNDER BAY - As part of Thunder Bay’s Sister Cities relationship with Duluth, the two cities will be holding a chef swap. This means that a chef from each city will be trading restaurants for two special dining events.

On Monday, March 12, Lake Avenue Restaurant and Bar’s chef will be at Red Lion Smokehouse in Thunder Bay.

On Monday, April 23, Red Lion Smokehouse’s chef will be at Lake Avenue Restaurant in Duluth.

“The Sister Cities program is about making partnerships and relationships that focus on similarities between communities,” said Andrew Garro, Vice-Chair, Sister Cities Advisory Committee. “Both Thunder Bay and Duluth have many great restaurants and these events are a fun way to share our culinary expertise.”

Thunder Bay became a Sister City with Duluth, Minnesota in 1980. The common shipping heritage, cultural and geographical similarities and close proximity made becoming Sister Cities natural. Thunder Bay and Duluth citizens regularly visit each other's communities for business or pleasure.

The event at Red Lion has sold out, but some tickets are available for the April 23 event at Lake Avenue Restaurant in Duluth.
