THUNDER BAY- The Thunder Bay Community Foundation has extended the 2019 grant application deadline from Friday, Oct. 11 to Tuesday Oct. 15, 2019 at midnight to ensure that all registered charities in Thunder Bay and District have an opportunity to apply for over $200,000 being disbursed this granting season.

Executive Director, Alexandra Calderon explained, “We’re putting another call out to the community to encourage registered charities who may not know about our grants and have never applied in the past to go online and send us their proposal. Our incredible donors and these grants work towards our goal of building a more vibrant, healthier and engaged community and we want to ensure everyone has a chance to apply since this is our first year with a completely online system.”

The Thunder Bay Community Foundation understands that the needs of our community are always changing and that’s why, for over 48 years, they’ve distributed nearly $5 million in grants, scholarships and bursaries on behalf of their donors in support of a wide variety of charitable organizations. The Thunder Bay Community Foundation provides grants to organizations throughout the District from programs and projects which support the arts, youth, capital projects, social justice, health, animal welfare, medical research and more.

The Thunder Bay Community Foundation, established in 1971, actively promotes community philanthropy for the long-term benefit of Thunder Bay and the surrounding area.
