Thunder Bay district COVID-19 cases stay in low single-digits

The last time the case count was 10 or higher was on Sept. 17.

THUNDER BAY — The active COVID-19 case count in the Thunder Bay district continues to hover in the low single-digits.

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit again reported no new cases on Wednesday, leaving the number of active cases at two, the same as on Tuesday.

Neither patient is receiving treatment in hospital.

The last time the district's case count was in double digits was Sept. 17, 2021, when there were 10 active cases.

As of Oct. 2, the Ontario health ministry reported that 91.5 per cent of the district population 12 years old and over has received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine, and 85.5 per cent is fully immunized.

The TBDHU, which uses a different population dataset, reported vaccination rates of 85.4 per cent and 78.5 per cent respectively.
