NEWS RELEASE
THUNDER BAY FIRE RESCUE
****************

THUNDER BAY – At midnight tonight, Thunder Bay Fire Rescue will lift the City wide fire ban previously in place.

At that time, all valid outdoor burning permits will be reinstated. The fire ban being lifted is consistent with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forests lifting the Restricted Fire Zone declaration.

Residents are reminded that fire stations are closed to the public due to the Covid-19 emergency, so permits can only be renewed and applied for online. New permit applications require an inspection by Thunder Bay Fire Rescue personnel, and those inspections will be completed as soon as possible.

Thunder Bay Fire Rescue reminds citizens that any outdoor burning within the city requires a permit. Permit rules and regulations are strictly enforced and failure to obtain a permit or follow the permit rules will result in prosecution and fine.
