THUNDER BAY – The $2-a-litre barrier has been broken in Thunder Bay.
A day after a pair of Kakabeka Falls gas stations upped the price of a litre of regular unleaded to $2.099, at least three Thunder Bay stations have followed suit, cracking the $2 mark to sit on Tuesday afternoon at $2.039 a litre.
The stations are all under the Esso banner.
It’s the first time the $2 barrier has been cracked in Thunder Bay.
Two stations, according to OntarioGasPrices.com remain under the $1.90 mark, with most stations in the city charging either $1.939 or $1.999 for a litre of regular unleaded.
K&A Variety and Gas Bar on City Road in Fort William First Nation boasts the lowest gasoline price in Ontario, at $1.68 for a litre of regular unleaded.
The Ontario average is currently $1.967 and the Canadian average is $1.925.
