THUNDER BAY — The number of patients at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre who have tested positive for COVID-19 is inching upward.
On Monday, the hospital reported it had 19 such patients, including two who are receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit.
Last Wednesday, when TBRHSC announced the reopening of a dedicated COVID unit, it had 15 patients with the virus.
The hospital's tally of COVID-19 patients is often higher than that of the Thunder Bay District Health Unit, which only releases data for patients who are residents of the District of Thunder Bay.
According to TBDHU, 10 district residents are currently hospitalized.
TBRHSC's overall bed occupancy rate is now approximately 99 per cent.
ICU occupancy on Monday was 77 per cent.
