THUNDER BAY — More than two dozen Hydro One staff from northwestern Ontario are now in Manitoba to help end power outages caused by a snowstorm last week.

Twenty-five powerline workers from the northwest arrived in Manitoba on Monday.

Nine of the workers are based in Thunder Bay.

Hydro One's chief acting chief operating officer, Darlene Bradley, said "Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by this severe snow storm...We are proud to share our resources to assist our neighbours during times of need."

The utility has reciprocal agreements with numerous utilities in Canada and the United States, under which assistance is provided during significant power outages.

All costs are covered by the utility that receives help.
