Thunder Bay Hydro has received the President’s Award from the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association.
It was earned by completing 250,000 hours of work without a lost time injury.
President Robert Mace says it took just over a year to achieve those hours.
“This took from January 26, 2012 to February 28 of this year,” Mace said during an interview with CKPR Radio. “In fact, after February we’ve continued to rack up impressive results. We are currently at 573 days of work without a lost-time incident.
Mace says the goal is by this time next year is to have completed half a million hours of work without a lost time injury.
