THUNDER BAY — A Thunder Bay man faces multiple charges after a weekend incident that saw four people attacked with bear spray.
It happened at a bus shelter in the 600 block of Memorial Avenue.
After a 911 call from a passerby, investigating officers arrived and located a victim.
They were told a man had approached four individuals in the bus shelter and sprayed them with bear repellent for no apparent reason.
At least one of the victims was known to the perpetrator, who fled on foot before police got to the scene.
The victims were all taken to hospital for treatment of their injuries.
Within hours, police arrested a 19-year-old suspect.
He was charged with four counts of assault with a weapon, two counts of breach of probation, and possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon.
The accused was released from custody with conditions and a future appearance date.
