DRYDEN, Ont. — A Thunder Bay man was scheduled to appear in bail court Tuesday after being arrested on multiple charges in Dryden.

A co-accused man from Kenora was also awaiting a bail hearing.

Dryden police say patrolling officers were following a suspicious vehicle Monday morning when its driver sped away and ultimately turned into a private driveway.

Police observed two men entering the breezeway of a residence.

When questioned, the pair were unable to explain why they were there.

After being told they were under arrest, a brief altercation with the officers ensued before they were taken into custody.

A search of their vehicle uncovered stolen property including a firearm and drug paraphernalia.

The two men face a variety of charges including break and enter, possession of a loaded prohibited firearm, possession of a firearm knowing the serial number has been tampered with, possession of a controlled substance, possession of property obtained by crime, operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited, and failure to comply with release orders.
