THUNDER BAY – A 35-year-old Thunder Bay man is facing sexual assault and child pornography charges.

Police say in March 2022 they opened an investigation into a suspected local internet user believed to have uploaded digital files connected to child exploitation, which later revealed the content was consistent with child pornography.

A search warrant was executed at a 400 block Northern Avenue residence on June 10, when an electronic device was seized and confirmed the accused was in possession of child pornography.

Police also learned the accused was connected to the alleged sexual assault of an adult victim.

An arrest was made in the afternoon of July 8.

Kevin R. Cameron, of Thunder Bay, faces charges of possession of child pornography, printing and publishing child pornography, importing and distributing child pornography, sexual assault with a weapon and voyeurism.

The accused was released, with conditions and a future court appearance date.
