Thunder Bay man charged in Nipigon drug bust

A search of a Nipigon residence helped police recover more than half a kilogram of marijuana. Police seized 579 grams of pot, 31 percocet pills and more than $27,000 in cash in the bust, which resulted in the arrest of a 53-year-old Thunder Bay man.

Police seized 579 grams of pot, 31 percocet pills and more than $27,000 in cash in the bust, which resulted in the arrest of a 53-year-old Thunder Bay man.

Robert Madigan was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of property obtained by crime.

Police, in a release issued Thursday night, said two more men are expected to be charged in conjunction with the seizure and face similar charges.

Madigan will appear in Nipigon court on Dec. 3.

The investigation continues, with police saying additional charges may be laid.
