THUNDER BAY — Police have charged a city man with possession of child pornography, accessing child pornography and making available child pornography.
The accused, 27-year-old Kevin Syrjanen, appeared in court Wednesday and was remanded into custody with a future court date.
Thunder Bay Police said members of their cyber crimes unit began an investigation after learning a local internet user was suspected of downloading and making child porn available between March and April of this year.
An electronic device was seized last month when a search warrant was executed at a residence on Frederica Street West.
The accused turned himself in to police Wednesday morning.
None of the charges has been proven in court.
