THUNDER BAY -- Thunder Bay OPP charged a 44-year-old man with impaired driving offences Sunday afternoon.
Ontario Provincial Police responded to a report of a possible impaired driver on Highway 11/17 near Balsam Street.
An off-duty Thunder Bay Police officer observed the driver of a vehicle hit a guardrail and then continue to drive erratically down the Highway. The off-duty officer was able to stop the driver.
When officers arrived at the scene, the 44-year-old was transported to Thunder Bay OPP detachment for further test.
He was later charged with impaired driving and is scheduled to appear in court July 29 to answer to his charges.
