THUNDER BAY – Bodnar Kuzma is $1.95-million richer after winning the top prize in the Nov. 11 Lottario draw.

The Thunder Bay resident told Ontario Lottery and Gaming Commission officials he initially thought he’d won a lot smaller prize after scanning it on a self-checker.

“I saw $1,900 so I went to the clerk to confirm my win but the machine was down. On my way to another store I checked my numbers and saw that all my numbers matched. I couldn’t believe it!” Bodnar said in an OLG release.

Bodnar said the most he’d ever won previously was about $250.

A groundsman with Thunder Airlines, he plans to use some of the money to travel.

I would like to visit my brother and sister in B.C. – it’s been a while. I would also like to purchase a new motor home – I’d love to do some road trips to the west coast and down to California,” he said.

He also plans to invest some of the money to save for retirement.

The winning ticket was purchased at Good Luck Lottery Shoppe on River Street.
