Thunder Bay mining-sector companies get Heritage Fund money

Part of the funding is for a new modular building manufacturer in Thunder Bay.

TORONTO — The province's Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation is investing about $700,000 in companies supplying products and services to the mining industry in Northwestern Ontario.

Two of the recipients are based in the Thunder Bay area, while a third plans to establish an operation at Manitouwadge.

ITEC 2000 Equipment Inc. in Rosslyn will receive $310,000 for an expansion including new equipment and a new warehouse.

Off-Site Innovations Corp. of Thunder Bay is getting $184,000 to open a modular building and buildings component manufacturing facility in the city.

Drennan Consulting and Diamond Drilling was awarded $200,000 to set up a diamond drilling business in Manitouwadge.

The funding was announced Tuesday in Toronto by Northern Development and Mines Minister Greg Rickford.
