MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — A man sought by Thunder Bay Police since a murder on Marks Street in 2017 has been arrested by Peel Regional Police.

Michael Cleghorn, 31, was apprehended in Mississauga on Thursday.

Cleghorn faces a charge of attempted murder in connection with a shooting incident in Mississauga last August.

Thunder Bay Police have been seeking him on a charge of second-degree murder since 21-year-old Edmond Clovis died on Victoria Day 2017.

Clovis died in hospital after being found severely injured at a Marks Street address.

"Certainly it's been on the top of the radar trying to locate him, but he has been on the run," a city police spokesperson said in an interview in August.

Cleghorn is also wanted by the Toronto Police Service for alleged sexual assaults on a child between 2014 and 2015.

It's not clear yet how the charges against him in the three cities will be handled in court.

Thunder Bay Police said Friday they are in discussions with Peel Regional Police and the Crown Attorney's office about returning him to Thunder Bay for processing.
