THUNDER BAY — Two people wanted on Canada-wide warrants by Chatham-Kent police have been arrested in Thunder Bay.

One of them was hiding in the basement of a home on Westfort when he was picked up last week.

A 19-year-old man and a 17-year-old male youth were both being sought on three counts of attempted murder.

Police in the southern Ontario city had been looking for the pair since a Jan. 26, 2021 incident in Chatham in which two people sustained gunshot wounds, and a third was shot at but not wounded.

A dog was shot and killed in the same incident.

Chatham-Kent police took three of five suspects into custody within days.

The other two were apprehended by Thunder Bay Police last Thursday.

A police spokesperson said the 17-year old was found hiding in the basement of a Brock Street residence during a routine check on the welfare of another person there.

The spokesperson said 19-year-old Terry Jamal St. Hill was arrested during a traffic stop.
