THUNDER BAY -- Thunder Bay Police have now released the name of the 33-year-old suspect in recent incidents of arson.

Benjamin David Morris Drake of Thunder Bay was arrested Friday in connection with a vehicle fire near Arthur Street and Syndicate Avenue early that morning, and a garage fire at a South May Street residence a few minutes later.

Drake faces two counts of arson, and is also charged with possession of incendiary material and breach of recognizance.

Police said that when he was arrested, he was walking on Simpson Street and carrying a gas can.

Detectives continue to investigate two other fires on the city's south side earlier in the week.
