THUNDER BAY — The in-house lawyer for the Thunder Bay Police Service is leaving the organization to return to the private sector.
Acting Chief of Police Dan Taddeo confirmed the departure of Holly Walbourne in a brief statement provided to news media.
He said Walbourne has decided to resume private practice after five years with the police service.
"We are grateful for her many contributions and look forward to maintaining a working relationship with her," Taddeo said.
Walbourne served while former Thunder Bay Police Chief Sylvie Hauth was in office.
Hauth was suspended in June 2022, and resigned from the police service in January of this year.
Taddeo is poised to confirm his own plan to retire from the police service.
He will make the announcement in May after the change-of-command ceremony for the new police chief, Darcy Fleury.
