THUNDER BAY — The Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra's remaining concerts this year will be performed for digital audiences only.

The TBSO announced Tuesday that it is taking this step as a precaution in view of the increasing COVID-19 case numbers in the Thunder Bay area.

The orchestra's remaining concerts – on Dec. 3, 4, 17 and 18 – were supposed to be in-person events, and had been planned with strict compliance with public health requirements..

However, in a statement, the TBSO said "out of concern for the health and wellbeing of our community, we will be asking our audience to join us from home for the time being."

The fall concert series has been a string of sellouts.

Individuals who have already bought tickets for one of the December concerts have the option of donating the tickets back to the orchestra in exchange for a charitable tax receipt.

They may also request a refund.

Concerts will be streamed at tbso.ca on Dec. 4 and Dec. 18 at 6:30 and 8:30 each night.
