Thunder Bay to stay in Grey

City's active case count has dropped from 406 to 259, but the seven-day, per-100,000 rate is still over 112, well above the threshold needed to consider a move to Red.

THUNDER BAY -- Thunder Bay will remain in Grey-Lockdown for at least another week.

The province on Friday announced a pair of public health units would be moving to new levels on Ontario's COVID-19 framework, but Thunder Bay was not on the list.

The City of Hamilton Public Health Services will be accelerated to Grey-Lockdown on Monday at 12:01 a.m., while the Eastern Ontario Health Unit will move to Red Control at that time.

Thunder Bay's active case count has dropped for nine straight days, from 406 to 259 as of Friday morning, but still has a seven-day, per-100,000 rolling case rate of 112, which is well above the threshold of 40 needed to return to Orange.
