THUNDER BAY -- A zero-visibility fog advisory is in effect for the city of Thunder Bay and along the North Shore.

According to Environment Canada, areas of dense fog are expected at locations adjacent to Lake Superior, including Highway 17, from Marathon to Thunder Bay. The weather service say visibility may improve for some areas on Thursday afternoon, but will deteriorate again in the evening.

Travel is expected to be hazardous and motorists are advised to slow down while driving, watch for tail lights and be prepared to stop.
