Thunder Bay woman charged with aggravated assault after Thursday night altercation

Her next court appearance will be on Monday.

THUNDER BAY - A woman is facing assault charges after a stabbing on Thursday evening.

Destiny Papassay, 26, appeared in Thunder Bay bail court on Friday, July 24, and was officially charged with one count of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and breaching a previous release order to not possess any weapons.

The alleged incident is said to have occurred at a residential address in the 100-block of Finlayson Street on Thursday night, July 23, according to Thunder Bay police.

An altercation took place between two people where one woman was allegedly assaulted with a weapon. The victim was transported to hospital for treatment of serious injuries, police said.

Police located the accused at the Finlayson Street address where she was arrested.

Papassay will remain in custody and appear in court next on Monday, July 27.

The accused and the 27-year-old victim were known to each other, according to police.
