THUNDER BAY - A 15-year-old male charged with second-degree murder and aggravated assault made a brief video appearance in a Thunder Bay courtroom on Thursday.
The youth’s name or any information that could potentially identify the youth involved is protected by the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
The circumstances of the offence are bound by a separate court-ordered publication ban.
Thunder Bay Police officers were originally dispatched to the 100 block of Picton Avenue just after midnight on Tuesday, March 3, after receiving reports of an assault in progress.
When police arrived they located two female victims outside. Paramedics transported the victims to a medical facility.
However, one victim died from her injuries and the other remains in hospital.
Police initially arrested Brianna Lynn Netemgesic, 20, and charged her with aggravated assault and second-degree murder.
The youth was arrested on Tuesday afternoon.
The young person’s next court appearance is scheduled to take place next week in person.
