Thunder Bay's Kelsey Tikka to be inducted into Golden Hawk hall of fame

Five-time soccer all-star was also a four-time academic all-Canadian playing at Laurier

WATERLOO, Ont. – Thunder Bay’s Kelsey Tikka is about to be inducted into the Laurier Golden Hawk Hall of Fame.

Tikka played for the women’s soccer team from 2010 to 2014, where she was a five-time OUA all-star and helped lead the Golden Hawks to a pair of OUA championships in 2010 and 2013.

The St. Patrick High School graduate was a four-time academic all-Canadian and won the OUA West rookie of the year award in her debut season.

She was named the schools athlete of the year in 2013.

Tikka is one of seven inductees who will be recognized with hall of fame plaques, including her soccer teammate Emily Brown.

Others earning the honour include basketball’s Max Allin, football’s Dillon Campbell, hockey’s Laura Brooker, men’s basketball coach Peter Campbell and the 1995 national champion women’s soccer team.
