THUNDER BAY — Given the recent mild weather, the City of Thunder Bay has announced the end of the outdoor skating season in the city.
Rising temperatures have resulted in poor ice conditions.
The city issued a statement saying skating at outdoor boarded rinks and ponds is done for the year.
But it said the ice surface at Prince Arthur's Landing will remain open for the time being.
Because it's kept frozen artificially, it can withstand temperatures well above zero.
The city issued a reminder to users to practise safe social distancing while using that facility.
