ThunderCon announces a one-day pop-up market fundraiser in support of ThunderCon 2022, as well as the businesses, artists and creators that make our event possible. Marketplaceto be held on the 6th Floor, 1265 Arthur St. E., on Dec. 4th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“We’re thrilled with the support we’ve received from ownership of West Arthur Place,” says vendor coordinator Toller Madsen. “We can now begin to deliver on our commitment to support the vendors/exhibitors that are so integral to the continued success of ThunderCon.”
Traditionally held over two days in the Fall, ThunderCon features panels, performances, celebrity guests and a bustling geek/nerd marketplace for all ages. GeekFestivus will be a much smaller event, featuring a chance to get your holiday pictures with the Grinch on the Iron Throne, an opportunity to buy your own limited-edition D&D miniature paint kit from Thunder Games and Gifts, and dozens of fantastic ideas for the nerd on your list this holiday season.
“We believe our vendor community speaks to folks that may not be drawn to a typical craft fair,” states Board Chair, Kevin Taylor. “The people of Thunder Bay continually show their support for small businesses, artists and entrepreneurs and we’re so thankful to add to the variety of offerings available to support local this holiday season. Portions of the entry fee will support ThunderCon 2022 with discounts available to those who bring a donation of non-perishable food items for the RFDA.”
Meanwhile, plans resume to continue the celebration of popular culture/fandom with the 6th Edition of ThunderCon, Sept. 17 and 18, 2022. ThunderCon urges anyone interested in getting involved with an ‘out of this world’ volunteer experience to connect with us at volunteers@thundercon.org
