Thunderwolves can't complete sweep in Windsor

One goal not enough to secure the weekend sweep, Lakehead falls to 1-1-0 after opening weekend.

WINDSOR – A three-goal second period proved to be the difference for the Windsor Lancers.

Brady Hinz, Matt Dorsey and Hunter Holmes put pucks past rookie Christian Cicigoi, coming off a shutout in his OUA men's hockey debut the night before, and Windsor went on to down the Lakehead Thunderwolves 4-1.

Tyler Jette had the lone goal for the team from Thunder Bay, beating Nathan Torchia with just under seven minutes to play in the third.

Grant Spence had Windsdor's other tally, scoring at 16:15 of the third.

LU heads home for a two-game set at Fort William Gardens on Friday and Saturday night against the York Lions.
