Thunderwolves drop second straight, fall to No. 7 Queen's

KINGSTON, Ont. – The Lakehead Thunderwolves have fared well against top 10 opponents this season, but couldn’t hang with the host Queen’s Gaels in the fourth on Friday night.

The Gaels outscored LU 22-10 in the final quarter to pull out an 80-65 triumph, led by Cole Syllas’ 20-point, 19-rebound night.

Cameron Bett had 16 for thee winning side, the No. 7 team in the nation, who handed Lakehead its second straight defeat.

Just two Thunderwolves players hit double digits on the night, Michael Okafor and Nathan Bilamu tying for the team high with 11 points apiece.

The two teams were tied after one and knotted 37-37 at halftime.

Lakehead (16-6) travels to Oshawa on Saturday to take on Ontario Tech.
