THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay police have arrested a Toronto man in connection with an alleged home takeover situation on the city’s north side related to the illegal drug trade.

Officers with the Thunder Bay Police Service’s intelligence unit made the arrest at a home in the zero to 100s block of Picton Avenue on Wednesday afternoon.

The force had received ongoing concerns that the legal resident had become the victim of a home takeover, the TBPS said in a statement Thursday.

Officers located a Toronto man suspected of being involved in drug trafficking after entering the home around 2 p.m., police said.

He was arrested without incident and taken to police headquarters.

Police said they later seized a quantity of crack cocaine, cash, and paraphernalia consistent with trafficking.

Julius Campbell-Tynes, 20, of Toronto faces the following charges:

• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
• Unlawfully in a Dwelling House

He appeared in bail court on Thursday and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date, police said.
