Toys for Tots wrapped up its annual campaign with a big cheque for the Christmas Cheer Fund.
The campaign came just shy of $150,000, which will be used to purchase toys for next year’s campaign.
Chair Bob Vander Ploeg said nothing has changed, but more money keeps coming in.
“That’s about five per cent more than last year” Vander Ploeg said.
“I don’t think anything has changed from the previous year. We did what we always do and we invited people to come make a contribution, large or small, and this was the result.”
Christmas Cheer Chair Linda Gambee said the Christmas Cheer campaign handed out close to 4,000 toys this year. She said this year’s donations to the Toys for Tots campaign have been overwhelming.
She added that this year’s contributions should allow the campaign to provide even more toys next holiday season.
