THUNDER BAY – The driver of a tractor trailer avoided injuries early Wednesday morning after the chip hauler caught fire on Highway 11/17.
Ontario Provincial Police responded to a report of a tractor trailer fire on Highway 11/17, west of Sunshine Loop Road, around 3:40 a.m.
Police attended the scene to conduct traffic control as the trailer portion (chip hauler) of a tractor trailer caught fire.
According to a release, the tractor portion was successfully separated and there were no injuries reported.
Crews are working to remove the trailer from the highway.
