Traffic complaint leads to impaired driving charges

FORT FRANCES – A late night traffic complaint has led to impaired driving charges for a 23-year-old.

Rainy River Ontario Provincial Police were advised of a traffic complaint in the Township of Alberton on Nov. 22 around 9:50 p.m.

Officers located the motor vehicle on Kings Highway 615.

Police say officers conducted a mandatory alcohol screening test on the driver and the driver failed.

The 23-year-old was arrested at the scene and taken to the Fort Frances Detachment.

As a result, a 23-year-old of Sioux Narrows-Nestor Falls was charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and impaired operation with blood alcohol concentration over 80.

The driver was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in Fort Frances court on Dec. 20.
