NIPIGON, Ont. -- The Ministry of Transportation has announced plans for temporary closures of the new bridge over the Nipigon River on Tuesday afternoon.
Due to ongoing construction at the crossing, the MTO said the contractor was anticipating one or two closures—each lasting up to 20 minutes—with the first one expected around 1:30 PM.
The ministry said traffic will be cleared after each closure.
An advisory from the MTO reminded motorists to be alert for and to obey all traffic signage in that area, to ensure the safety of workers as well as the travelling public.
The original plan was to implement the closures in the evening, however the schedule was changed because of inclement weather forecast for Tuesday evening.
