Traffic stop leads to drug bust

SIOUX LOOKOUT, Ont. – A traffic stop by Ontario Provincial Police on Tuesday has led to a seizure of drugs.

OPP conducted a traffic stop on Highway 72 near Sturgeon River Road.

During the vehicle search, investigators located and seized morphine pills with an estimated street value of $3,000, a number of electronic devices and paraphernalia indicative of drug trafficking.

As a result of the investigation, a 70-year-old Sioux Lookout man has been charged with possession of a 
schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.

He was released on a promise to appear and is scheduled to appear in Sioux Lookout Court on July 3.
