Traffic stop leads to drug charges

OPP seize quantity of drugs and a prohibited weapon following a traffic stop.

DRYDEN – A traffic stop by OPP in Dryden over the weekend has resulted in drug charges.

According to a release issued Tuesday afternoon, Ontario Provincial Police conducted a traffic stop on Government Street on Sunday.

As a result of the traffic stop, police located and seized a quantity of drugs and a prohibited weapon.

Sarbjeet SINGH, 26, of Brampton and Jatinder DHALIWAL, 35, of Waterloo have been charged with knowledge of unauthorized possession of a weapon and possession of a schedule I substance – heroin.

Both of the accused were released on an appearance notice to attend the Ontario Court of Justice- Dryden on June 14 to answer to the above charges.
